About Me
Hey! My name is Julia Alderman. I’m currently studying at MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art and Design) for my BFA in Animation and Humanistic Studies, while minoring in Painting. Some may ask, how do you juggle two majors and a minor? I dont. But I have fun.
I create work about multiple sides of conversation, revolving around the margins of mental health, racial identity, and material to investigate what it means to feel out of place, and feeling misunderstood. I explore these themes by incorperating mixed media of all kinds into my animations and paintings; such as ceramics, soft sculpture, fibers, and beading.
